A repost: Bosnia - Trip to Srebreniča
03.31.2010 Filed in: world | Trauma response
I am reposting a blog entry I wrote on my personal blog on July 12, 2007 following recent news for the Balkan region reported in the NY Times.
Although my experience of having lived in Bosnia is now almost 3 years removed, I still long for reconciliation in the region having heard many stories of trauma, atrocity and invalidation of the harm that was done during the Bosnian civil war. Perhaps formal apologies and the arrest of Miladic can begin a greater healing experience for the region.

However, our initial desire to act may not be the most sustainable and helpful responses. Read More...
Jesus Had a Screwed Up Family Too
If I remember correctly, Matthew specifically mentions individuals in Jesus’ family tree that most people would like to accidentally leave out of their own histories. Women of “questionable character”[1] including the likes of prostitutes and adulterers are specifically mentioned. Also mentioned are “evil” people and a note of another Bible says that God “works through ordinary people” to “accomplish his will.”[2]
